Applied Serendipity: Oct. 23

CARE: Great to be on campus in Pittsburgh with alums of the C-Suite programs at Carnegie Mellon University - Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy for the launch of Executive Advantage. Grads of the C-level programs—CIO, CISO, CDataO, CDigitalO—came together for networking and continuing education—much focus on AI of course! If you want to level up your data and tech game, join me in the next CDataO cohort in November. Apply here and/or check out the full suite of programs and alum benefits. Can’t recommend these programs enough—you’ll join a caring and generous community of C-Suite leaders across disciplines and have access to continuous education. Go for it!

PREPARE: This week I will be planting bulbs—a true labor of delayed gratification. Given the garden is in a forested area, I have to stick with deer-resistant varieties. I ordered several hundred Thalia Narcissus, Fritillaria Meleagris, Leucojum, and Crocus bulbs so my total plantings will top 2,000 bulbs going into the third fall of my garden.

AWARE: October is Women’s Small Business Month. Excited to be one of the 13,000,000 women in the U.S. who owns a small business.

SHARE: Greg and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary. It was joyful to attend a friend’s wedding the same week as they begin to write their life story and hear the vows which are a reminder of what a journey of ups and downs life really is. The best advice I’ve heard about finding “the one” is from Esther Perel. She is right on…

DARE: I dared to be on a panel at Carnegie Mellon this week: Technology, Data, and Digital Innovation in the ChatGPT Era: Working with Your Peers in the C-Suite. In my coaching, I dare my clients be visible and own their value. What can you dare to do this week to create value, help your customers, and increase your visibility?
