Applied Serendipity: Nov. 10

Soap from the CW Native Botanika and Applied Serendipity collaboration

CARE: Excited about my collaboration with Kathy Contrino of CW Native Botanika. I got to know Kathy as I began sourcing native plants for my garden from her nursery, and learned that she is also an artisan of self-care botanical products. So we collaborated and Kathy has introduced a line of products using raw honey from my hives. You may order here or check out her upcoming shows where she will be in person. And check out Kathy’s story in my Artist Colony where she is the newest member!

PREPARE: Our family is preparing for Thanksgiving—this year we’re doing a potluck where everyone makes a dish or two that they want to surprise everyone with. And our daughter Caroline suggested we do a meme slide show so we’re all selecting our favorite memes. I’ve found some great Mom memes…a funny new tradition!

AWARE: On this Veterans Day weekend, a sincere thank you to our veterans whose valor, courage and sacrifice continue to defend our freedom.

SHARE: Grateful to those in my life who generously teach and mentor my young adults. Our own kids don’t generally listen to us, but they’ll listen to others. So maybe we can be the others for others’ kids.

DARE:  Taking a hike in Niagara Falls State Park today and hope to stop by the grave of my favorite daredevil Annie Edson Taylor. Yes, the first person to go over the falls in a barrel and survive was a 63-year old retired teacher and her cat!
