Applied Serendipity: March 18

CARE: Cleaning is caring! Spent the weekend starting my spring cleaning—here’s a fun piece about the tradition of spring cleaning. Turns out we’re coming up on National Cleaning Week. Continuing to simplify, simplify, simplify and uphold my motto for this year: #LessIsMore2024.

PREPARE: We’re 3 weeks out from The Total Eclipse of the Sun and my local library branches seem to be out of free eclipse glasses. Here’s how to prepare your eyes for this astronomical event.

AWARE: One reason I’m getting more involved in local government is my concern for rising levels of debt at the federal, state, and local levels. Spending at all levels is unsustainable and is putting the next generation’s future at risk. Our public debt is at record levels, as is our private or debt. It’s concerning that this isn’t a bigger part of the conversation in families, local, state, and federal governments. Here’s a snapshot of what’s happening in our households. Awareness is the first step.

SHARE: Proud that my local Harvard Business School Club helps train our next generation of local leaders—we’ll be opening up applications for our fall Management Development Program soon.

DARE: When I need some motivation to dare myself to take on a new challenge, I think of what my Dad taught me when I was young: Swing at it!
