Applied Serendipity: Sept. 4
A look at how I’ve used Applied Serendipity in my own life lately:
CARE: My family tops the list of what I care about and a main reason for why I changed it up, became my own boss, and started my new business a year ago. “Loved Ones First” is one of the pillars of The Blue Zones, the places where people live the healthiest and longest lives. Family visits and reunions have been highlights of the summer and having the time to enjoy them without the stress of a full-time job has been great.
PREPARE: Harvested, bottled, delivered and mailed summer honey to customers in my region and around the country. This was a lot of labor, but joyful work. I’m learning how my customers use my honey - and am so honored that it will be served at Rosh Hashanah to celebrate a sweet new year. The bees are now in the fall nectar flow - sign up here to join the waitlist for fall honey. Summer honey sold out fast!
SHARE: Rewarding to teach bankers across the country about data, wrapping up my second enterprise data management class for the American Bankers Association. Given the excellent response, I will be offering this class three times next year.
AWARE: I’ve become so much more aware of the importance of native plants in our landscape to promote biodiversity. Have now planted hundreds of perennials - mostly native - in our habitat. Am working on a fun collaboration with CW Native Plant Farm - more to come.
DARE: Really stepped out of my comfort zone and said yes when asked to be a model at Talbots Fall Trunk Show!
