Applied Serendipity: Sept. 14

CARE: We said good-bye to our much-loved family dog this week, who made it to the ripe old age of 15. Losing a pet is heartbreaking, no matter how long and happy our times were together. Our hearts are full of joyful memories, yet also broken. I found this piece by Bryana Connor very helpful.

PREPARE: I’m excited to expand my coaching practice with new clients. Benefit from my scars and stings! More information here

AWARE: September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, a devastating disease that has affected so many women and families, including our own. In promoting awareness of this disease, I encourage you to read the latest research that may run counter to typical beliefs. Of particular note is this new recommendation from the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance: women who've finished having children and would be undergoing gynecologic surgery for other reasons should consider having fallopian tubes removed to lower risk for developing ovarian cancer. Read more here.

SHARE: I’m delighted that my honey is being served at a friend’s Rosh Hashana gathering to celebrate a sweet new year! The bees are busy making honey for the fall harvest coming up in a month or so. They are loving the hundreds of native plants we’ve added, as well as the asters and goldenrod throughout our forest. Sign up for the Fall Harvest Honey Wait List here.

DARE: I’m co-hosting a dinner in New York tonight with my client Ultranauts and leaders in the data community. Daring to host more dinners and events with my clients to bring interesting people together to make positive change. Check out the NY Times feature on Ultranauts.
