Applied Serendipity: Nov. 12

A look at how I’ve used Applied Serendipity in my own life lately:

CARE: Glad the election is over and democracy prevailed.

PREPARE: Finished the arduous process of bottling 150+ jars of honey and delivered and mailed the orders. Thank you to my customers/donors for your support and generosity and to our first essential workers, as my daughter Caroline describes them, the honeybees.

AWARE: Gratifying to see how museum curation is becoming more inclusive. Family trip to the Burchfield Penney - enjoyed the LeRoi Johnson Living in Color show and his “electric primitive” style and Shared Light: G. Peter Jemison and Charles E. Burchfield.  And picked up some vintage Buffalo China in the gift shop.

SHARE: Saw Burst, a riveting play by Rachel Bublitz about late-stage capitalism at Tactix in Silicon Valley and the dark side of founders who sell the idea of changing the world. FTX anyone? Reminded again of the rich theater scene in Western New York.

DARE: Recorded a podcast sharing my thoughts on the current state of data - raw and unfiltered like my honey.
