Applied Serendipity: Nov. 27
CARE: Saying “hi” matters. In Sweden, the Säg hej! (say hello!) campaign was launched to help combat loneliness by encouraging simple social interaction. Small things make a difference.
PREPARE: Working on my business plan for 2024. Continuing to evolve and try new things. Love the philosophy of the Bills’ new offensive coordinator Joe Brady: “Don’t Get Bored”— meaning move fast, change it up, keep it interesting, do what you’re good at. I’m in!
AWARE: Learned a beautiful new word — marcescence — the sound that leaves make on deciduous trees like beech when they don’t fall off in the winter. Their gentle rustle is marcescence. So when you walk in the woods this winter and hear this subtle sound, it’s a reminder that there’s beauty all around us, and much we still don’t understand. The trees shown are from The Beech Tree Trail at Reinstein Woods, a serene and scenic spot to experience marcescence.
SHARE: Sending out my honey this morning to customers all over the country. I love hearing how my honey is used—whether it’s for tea, celebrating holidays, serving in a restaurant, or even taking a spoonful as part of a clinical trial! I’ve been amazed by what customers share with me.
DARE: Applied Serendipity® is now an officially registered trademark. I dared to do it! More to come.
