Applied Serendipity: June 18
CARE: We’ve welcomed Romeo to our family—thank you to our friend Rosanne who arranged his rehoming. Joyful to have a dog in the family again.
PREPARE: Celebrating National Pollinator Week by working in my gardens. I’ve learned that creating a pollinator-friendly habitat involves not just adding the right elements, but also eliminating invasive species. Plan to attend an Invasive Species training this weekend to learn more.
SHARE: Visited The High Line on recent trip to NYC—an unparalleled model of what is possible with public gardens. The winding path of plants and trees designed by Piet Oudolf is transcendent. This exquisite mile+ garden interspersed with art, buildings, places to be and places to do on top of an abandoned railroad is one of the most resourceful and beautiful transformations of abandoned infrastructure I’ve experienced. This is the height of what is possible when the community engages to create a new generation of environmentally sensitive, inclusive spaces that marry green space and art on the deepest level.
AWARE: Pleased to see the important work being done by Bloomberg Philanthropies to highlight cities that are using data to improve governance and quality of life.
DARE: Enjoying speaking up on podcasts on AI. Check out my Podcasts and Media page for my latest appearances.
