Applied Serendipity: Dec. 22

A look at how I’ve used Applied Serendipity in my own life lately:

CARE: Observed the Winter Solstice with Greg and the dogs and read:

To Know the Dark

To go in the dark with a light is to know the light.

To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,

and fine that the dark, too, blooms and sings,

and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

PREPARE: Hunkered down for a generational storm, whatever that means. A White Christmas and then some.

SHARE: The Snyder Fire House Santa drove by a few days early this year, with the generational storm ahead accelerating his Christmas Eve schedule.

AWARE: Celebrated a family birthday at The Grange Community Kitchen last night in the historic Grange building in Hamburg. The finest farm-to-table dining in this region. Have started down the rabbit hole of The Grange Movement, a 19th century midwestern grassroots movement that promoted the social and economic needs of farmers. #AppliedSerendipity that my most treasured table in the creekside cabin was once in a Grange.
DARE: Wearing hot pink for Christmas this year. #BarbieCore
